I am exhausted and brain dead, so I’ll keep this short and sweet.

Please, for the love of Pete, (whoever the heck he is,) vote during the primaries.

It doesn’t matter if you’re republican, democrat, or independent. Just do it. It doesn’t take long, and afterwards you’ll be filled with a sense of belonging, and possibly the immediate urge to stroke your chin philosophically as you mentally ponder the decline of the American economy, as well as the general populace’s overall lack of common sense. Also, you may get free candy and/or stickers. I am failing to see a negative outcome.

But in all seriousness, voting in your primary allows you to help select your future leaders. And that’s kind of a big deal.

If you are able, I highly recommend getting involved with a local campaign. It’s a wonderful way to get to know people who live in your area, help out the community, and meet really cool people. It’s also an incredibly satisfying way to serve fellow humans, and help to make your county/city/state/country a better place.

Many politicians are corrupt, vile, and mean spirited. Get involved early on in the elections, and cast your ballot for men and women of integrity. If you do your homework before voting, you may be able to help weed out some of the nastiness.

Politics are cool.
